Last year we’ve bought a pizza stone for the BBQ, but so far I’ve used it in the oven, see halloumi pizza. As is warm outside and we finally managed to refurbish the garden gate, we’ve added the bamboo screening. It was time for a BBQ. As I has almost no veggies, I told hubby I’m going to use the pizza stone for its real purpose. It was even better than expected!
Ingredients for Pizza on the BBQ:
– 150g self raising flour (50/50 white and wholemeal)
– 70ml water
– cheddar
– feta
– Stilton
– 2 spoons of tomato juice from a can of plum tomatoes
– olives
Mix the flour with water and make the dough. Roll the dough and place it on the floured pizza stone. Spread the tomatoes juice on the dough, add the cheddar, the feta and the Stilton. Cut the olives in 3 and put them on the pizza. It’s ready to be baked.
Put it on the BBQ and leave it to bake. The barbeque should be well heated, with all the charcoal pieces hot.
In 15 minutes the dough should start to cook and the cheese should start bubbling.
When is ready, take it off the BBQ with a metal tray. The stone that I bought from B&Q has a cutter and a metal tray. Is was very handy to use it.
